A dear friend sent me a bunch of smiles today. She is on a missions trip in Thailand right now and they went to a sunflower farm ~ these flowers ALWAYS make me smile....I can't help it.
I would love to look out my back door and see this!

I ran into my high school English Lit. teacher today at Ace Hardware. We have kept in touch through the years and she had been on my heart for the past few months. I now know why, in March or May, one of the "M" months she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has cancer in both breasts and a biopsy was done on a spot near her lower spine a couple of weeks ago. She is waiting for the results of that. 
She has had a positive impact in my life. She encouraged me to homeschool the kids when I was telling her that I was considering it - she said "If anyone can do it, you can.". She made books come alive for me. I remember reading The Scarlet Letter in her class and another called Utopia. She walked into class one day with a big "A" on her chest, at the time I thought she was crazy - most people did. She made you earn your grade. When she spoke about a book, she was always throwing her arms in the air and talking loudly. She is this little Italian woman that has no qualms about telling you what she thinks - I have always appreciated that.
I told Ms. T that I would be praying for her and I would come over and help in any way that she wanted me to. I know that she won't take me up on it, but when we get back from vacation, I plan on making myself "available" - at least for lunch, a cup of coffee and a little talk about what new things she has learned from "The Scarlet Letter".

Well, she has pretty much brought you up to speed on the freak show that is happening at Camp Cookman - I spent today working on kid curriculum for a couple things that I am involved in. I still need to finish it up before I leave so I have no clue if I will be able to stamp or do anything!!!!!
I even got a little treasure box in the mail and all that I was able to do was open the top to see what was in it and then throw a bag on top of it that had some new stuff....see......
These are the cool things that arrived who knows how long ago - I don't even count on getting to cut them out before we leave on our Wild West Tour - which I am so stinkin' excited about I can't even tell you! 
Not only do I get to go to my favorite place in the whole wide world ....MONTANA!!! Yeah baby! but, I get to see my familia and drive with my kids up there and we always have a fun time together on our road trips!
Here is a little "non-stamping" artwork from Chase - non-stamping because we all know how his Dad feels about boys stamping! Notice the chicken on the card??? It's from the chicken feed bag that was last emptied - very resourceful kid!
Did my sis ever tell you how she and my bro were driving down from Montana one time and they took pixs of every road kill that they saw coming back to CA???? Scary huh!! Talk about a scavenger picture hunt!!! I won't do that to my kids - maybe we will do our fav coffee shops or ice cream shops or bakeries or diners....now that sounds fun - we already have on the books to go see this great diner in Dillon, MT named Sparky's (if it's still there - things change all the time!). Chase got a t-shirt from there a couple years ago and he has out grown it so we need to get another :).
I have to make an observation - my sis posting greatly increased the # of lookers here - so I just want to give a shout out to Sharon in NE for the comment - thanks for looking at this Bay Area Broad's blog - I would say Bay Area Babe but I am to thick to be considered such :) LOL.
I never know if I should e-mail back to people that comment and let them know that I saw what they wrote and appreciate the time they take to read this thing.... so starting now ...if you read this thing and leave a comment, just know that I am going to take the time to say "thanks' via e-mail so don't delete it when it comes from "katcookman" - I'm not spam or some crazy porn ad - it's just me saying "Gracias!"
