We began our expedition to the little town of Stillwater, where Mr. Popper lives. Yes, we started our studies in Mr. Popper's Penguins by Richard & Florence Atwater. Our geography studies included an overview of the continents and the major oceanic waters. The kids also made narration books that look like penguins. For each chapter, they are/will be writing about what is going on, what might happen next or a little bit about what is revealed about the main character(s). On the back side of the narration, they are writing their vocabulary words with the definitions. I have various games planned after each section to help them retain the meanings of the words.
We plan on incorporating a lapbook also, but that will come in a little bit. As we progress in our study, I will share a little more about what we have done.
Here is a picture of their narration books -
I also did a little stamping today. I had one more idea for that Big Blossom stamp by SU! and had to work it out. It took a few tries to get the effect that I wanted but I am really having a great time thinking of different ways to use this stamp!
I took the picture with all of the things that I used with the card - just a little variety shot for you to see.
Have a wonderful day and chat with you soon! TTFN!
The penguin journals are too cute!! I love them! I like your card too! It looks like the alcohol inks may have stuck to your embossed image though? Hmmmm... going to have to brain storm this one! Ü
